Live Your Adventure | Simple Stories Travel Notes | Sassy Scrappers

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I am back with you to share another travel themed design team layout for Sassy Scrappers using the awesome Simple Stories Travel Notes collection!

I will be honest, when I first saw this map paper, I was a little intimidated by it! I knew I wanted to use it but I was stuck for ideas! I picked it up to use it but then put it down and keep doing that for a few days until I came up with the idea to handstitch a path from Australia to Europe!

I had picked out this small photo to use when we visited Paris last year! It was my second time going but my hubby and boys had never been. We shared a special time in front of the Eiffel Tower as she lit up and sparkled late at night! It is so spectacular to see, so of course we caught it on camera!

I kept the embellishing to a minimum so that it didn't detract from the background and I was really happy with how it turned out! The handstitching was done using 3 pieces of white embroidery cotton together.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Make sure to check out the Sassy Scrappers store for this collection and all the other amazing goodies in store!

Happy creating!

Mum Life | The Cut Shoppe

Hi everyone!

I am very excited to share my first design team layout with you as part of The Cut Shoppe design team!

As soon as I saw this brand new Heart and Soul cut file, I knew I wanted to handstitch the right hand side but have the left side cut from paper...

To achieve this in the software, I had to subtract the left part from the right, I then put the left side back onto the cutting mat in the software and cut it from this heart paper. Once that was finished I deleted that part and then put the right hand side back onto the cutting mat, using the sketch pens instead of the blade this time I set the software to sketch the lines for me onto the pink ombre paper so I had a guide for the holes to be pierced, I then chose different coloured cottons and went ahead and stitched. Once the handstitching was complete, I adhered the left hand heart cut out paper to the pink ombre paper!

I just love how the coloured stitching turned out! It was worth the few hours it took me to get it done! Once it was complete, I only really needed to add my photo, title and some embellishments and I was finished!

The photo I chose is one of me in my car, its where I seem to spend a lot of my time lately...running my boys here, there and everywhere! Hence the title of my page....Mum Life!!!

I mainly used the Paige Evans/Pink Paislee 'Oh My Heart' collection for this layout, I have lots of Paige's collections to use up so I will be sure to use some of them up for my projects for The Cut Shoppe!

This is the cut file called 'Heart and Soul' I used that is now in the The Cut Shoppe Etsy store!

Explore | Simple Stories Travel Notes | Sassy Scrappers

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I am back with you to share another travel themed design team layout created for Sassy Scrappers using the awesome Simple Stories Travel Notes collection!

I decided on a circle design this week and went ahead and punched out 1 inch circles from the paper with all the circles! I placed them down with liquid adhesive and then machine stitched through them all by going around in one big circle...

I love that large 'Explore' title from the chipboard sticker pack, that easily became my title, placing it at the bottom of my photo amongst some other embellishments also.

The itinerary tag has some extra journalling on it so I left the adhesive off the middle of my photo so I was able to tuck it in behind my photo.....I added some twine to the top of the tag for some texture.

The wood veneer globe was a little bit plain just on its own so I added a sticker to liven it up a little bit!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Make sure to check out the Sassy Scrappers store for this collection and all the other amazing goodies in store!

Just Being Me | March 2018 Main and Add-On Kits | Hip Kit Club

Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing a new design team layout created for Hip Kit Club using the amazing March 2018 Main and Add-On kits!

I absolutely adore that background paper I have my white cardstock adhered too! I really wanted to use that paper for my background but I decided it was a little bit too busy so I broke it up with some white cardstock!

The Patio Party die cut ephemera found in the March 2018 Main Kit, has the cutest bits and pieces perfect for a Summer themed layout! I mean how cute is that flamingo right?!

That 'I Live For the Weekend' ephemera piece is the fit for this layout since I was on a little houseboat weekend getaway with my boys and my Mum...I layered lots of the flower ephemera pieces in and around my photo to draw the eye in!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Best Fun Ever | Endless Summer | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing a new design team layout for Cocoa Vanilla! This week we are scrap lifting fellow design team members on the CVS blog! I chose to scraplift a stunning layout by fellow design team member Anna Komenda

This is my take on Anna's gorgeous layout......

I used the gorgeous Endless Summer collection and even did the mixed media part!! Mixed media is really not my thing and it probably doesn't look the best but I wanted to push myself a little bit out of my comfort zone and I am happy with how it turned out!

This is Anna's amazing layout....Anna used the awesome 'You Rock' collection!

Lots of paper layers underneath my photo and some foam tape to pop some of them up! The wood veneer title is also popped up using some foam dots!

The 'Live in the Sunshine' sticker was also popped up on the right side as it needed to become level with my photo and layers! I added lots of different embellishments including puffy stickers, wood beads, ephemera, flair button, accessory stickers and wood veneer all from the Endless Summer collection! I chose to use Endless Summer as I always want Summer to be endless haha!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!

Party | March 2018 Main Kit | Hip Kit Club

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a safe and Happy Easter?! Today I am back with you to share a new design team layout for Hip Kit Club using the gorgeous March 2018 Main Kit only!

We know that many of our lovely subscribers get the main kit only each month so the designers like to share projects in the hope to inspire you and get you creating and using your kits!

The March 2018 Main Kit features a ton of the pretty Patio Party collection by Pebbles Inc and Jen Hadfield, I used lots of this collection to create my layout....I love how the ephemera pack included citrus and flamingos to go with my Summery photo of my nephew!

Those woodgrain phrase Thickers are gorgeous! I love how they make a big impact as a title! The cute little ephemera piece with the umbrella was a little bit big for my page so I decided to cut just the umbrella out to layer it behind my photo!

I used a couple of the cardstock stickers from the Flourish collection by Maggie Holmes and I also added the date stamp and some splats of mist to finish.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!

Go See Do | Simple Stories Travel Notes | Sassy Scrappers

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday! Today I am back with you to share a new design team layout created for Sassy Scrappers using the gorgeous Travel Notes collection by Simple Stories!

For my layout today, I started off by choosing a title cut file that I would be able to back some papers with...this Go, See, Do one was the perfect one for this! I was happy to be able to use a few of the different papers to add some colour to the title. I initially cut the title from the navy patterned paper and I like how that turned out!

It was tricky to work out how big to cut the title out, I was trying to envision where I was going to place my photo! In the end I did make it smaller than I had originally planned so that it was somewhat balanced with the size of my photo!

The wood veneer pack I got this month is from one of the older Simple Stories collections called You Are Here, I love the words and the icons in this set! It was great to be able to add the Travel piece above the cut file title!

Some of the ephemera, chipboard and stickers from the Travel Notes collection all made it onto this layout!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, check out this collection plus so much more in the Sassy store now!

Together | March 2018 Main and Add-On Kits | Hip Kit Club

Happy Easter everyone!!

Today I am sharing a new design team layout for Hip Kit Club using the gorgeous goodies all found in the March 2018 Main and Add-On kits!

This month there are lots of chipboard frames included in the kits, when I saw them, they immediately gave me the idea to create a loose grid design for my layout today! I did not want to just leave the frames blank so I backed them with my photo, die-cuts and stickers!

For my title I could not go past those gorgeous wood grain chipboard Thickers, choosing the word. 'Together' as my title to go with the two munchkins together in the outdoor bath tub!

I rarely use a dark background, always preferring to go with white, however this week, I challenged myself to use a dark background and I just love how it turned out....I love how the colours all look nice and bright against the dark!

I hope you all had a safe and Happy Easter!

Happy creating!
